CyberBecause

There is more to cybersecurity than simply hacking – and what’s more, anyone can forge a career in cybersecurity, no matter their background. What is your #CyberBecause?

The number of cybersecurity professionals worldwide needs to grow by 89% just to meet current demand. Yet careers in cybersecurity are far more diverse than many people think. A cybersecurity career can take you down many paths, whether your experience lies in IT, engineering, finance, law, communications, policy and beyond!

No matter your background, a career in cybersecurity can be a way to make a difference in shaping a safer online environment – one that is better equipped to overcome cybersecurity challenges of today and tomorrow. Will you help us to spread the word about what a career in cybersecurity can offer?

How to participate

Get started by picking an image below. Then share it on social media using the hashtag #CyberBecause, along with your own story. Why did you want to work in cybersecurity? Why does your role matter? Why should other people consider a similar career? Anyone can share their story – there are no right or wrong answers!

Do not forget to tag ENISA (#ENISA, @enisa_eu) in your post so that we can share your stories on our own channels. We’re on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook!

Why not involve other people by tagging them to ask them to share their own cybersecurity stories? Together, we can help fill this shortage of skills, and shape the cybersecurity workforce of tomorrow.
